Selling Sunset season five is back, featuring the welcome return of our favourite Oppenheim Group ladies ready to sell their super luxe LA homes, and introducing ambitious, no-nonsense British realtor Chelsea Lazkani.

The 10-part series has returned with plenty of drama as Christine and Heather clash over her bridal shower, Christine teams up with new agent Chelsea, and Davina is given one "last chance" by the owner of a $75 million house she was meant to sell.

There's also some juicy Hollywood gossip too as Emma Hernan lets slip to Chrishell Stause that she was asked out for coffee by none other than Hollywood actor Ben Affleck.

In episode 5, Emma tells Chrishell that she previously matched with Affleck on exclusive, high-profile dating app Raya, announcing: "He [Affleck] may or may not have asked to grab coffee a few times... I didn't go."
Emma also revealed that she and Affleck had a Boston connection, and that his message was very sweet, adding: "He [Affleck] may or may not have been texting me. It was right before that [Affleck got together with Jennifer Lopez). So, maybe that wouldn't have happened. We have the Boston connection. So, that was his opening pick-up line."

A representative for Emma told People that the interaction happened in 2019. However a rep for Affleck added to the publication: "Raya has confirmed that he has not been an active member for several years."
Meanwhile, there's a lot of focus on the blossoming relationship between Chrishell and Jason, which comes to light in these brand new episodes.

Obviously Christine's antics continue in season 5, including her rivalry with Emme which leaves us wondering – will Christine Quinn be leaving the show?

With the Selling Sunset cast getting a shake-up and Jason Oppenheim getting ready to appear in spin-off Selling the OC, there's a lot to untangle from season 5 – and we haven't even gotten to the Selling Sunset reunion yet!

Here's everything you need to know about Selling Sunset season 5 as the show returns to Netflix, including who's in the cast, and where the show left off last season. Selling Sunset season 5 release date

Selling Sunset season 5 premiered on Netflix on Friday 22nd April. All episodes are available to stream now.

Netflix announced the news on its official Twitter page in March.

"Drama! Drama! Drama! Selling Sunset finally returns with the premiere of season 5 on April 22," read a caption alongside the promo image and grabs from the season.

We knew Selling Sunset season 5 would happen after the series was renewed for seasons 4 and 5 back in March.

Season 5 started production in November 2021, Chrishell Stause shared a shot of her outfit for one of the shoots.

There hasn't really been much consistency to Selling Sunset release dates over the past four seasons, but seasons 2 and 3 did film in quick succession, and dropped within three months of each other.

Selling Sunset season 5 cast

You can expect all of the cast back for season 5, including Vanessa Villela and Emma Hernan, who joined in season 4.

There is also a new agent joining The OG! Luxury real estate agent and mum-of-two Chelsea Lazkani will appear in season 5.

She shared the news on her Instagram, saying: "I’m beyond thrilled to announce that I have joined the cast of @netflix Selling Sunset! So grateful for everyone involved, the list is long and you know who you are. The laughs, the lux, the drama, it’s all there in season 5 and I can’t wait for you all to see it!"

We may not see as much of Jason in the series (though, more on him below) as he announced at the end of season 4 that he was heading up a new branch in the Orange County.

He introduced viewers to new members of the wider Oppenheim Group who he'll be working with, so chances are we could see them sometime soon on the Netflix series (aside from the confirmed Selling Sunset spin-off).

Selling Sunset season 5 plot

At the end of Selling Sunset season 4, Netflix dropped a tantalising teaser which revealed what's surely the biggest story of season 5 – and it concerned two individuals.

Chrishell and Jason went Instagram official on 28th July 2021, and luckily for us, the cameras were on hand to capture their blossoming romance.

A short clip was shown of the cast finding out about Jashell and it seems it's come as a complete surprise to everyone...

Sadly, the pair broke up in December 2021, and it's unclear whether that will feature in season five just yet, but could become the focus of season six, certainly.

Chrishell took to Instagram on 22nd December to confirm the sad news. She wrote: "I have tried to embrace the world I have found myself in and that includes being open and honest about my relationships.

"It felt scary and terrifying knowing that it may not end in what society deems a success and what I am ultimately looking for. But after many long heartfelt talks, I am choosing to see it as a success no matter what label is attached to it publicly.

"Jason was an is my best friend, and other than our ideas for family ultimately not being aligned, the amount of respect and love we have for each other will not change going forward.

"Men have the luxury of time that women don't and that's just the way it goes. All of that being said, navigating this public terrain is difficult and I am just trying my best."

Chrishell concluded: "And thank you Jason for the most incredible relationship and for consistently being honest with me, even when it hurts."

Aside from that, a dramatic season four ending left Christine pretty alone and separated from the rest of the group.

While she's still in the company, at least according to The Oppenheim Group's website, it seems tensions are still running high between Christine and the other girls.

In a clip shared on Twitter, Christine claimed she was being 'left out' of group photos by the other members of the Oppenheim Group team.

It seems there's still a lot of tension in the office and no doubt season five will explore the drama further...
